Meet Carlee, aka “Car Crash.” Normally this time of year she’s training hard for the upcoming Detroit Roller Derby season, but since that’s all been postponed, she’s learning some new tricks down at Riverside Skatepark.
Carlee is a customized Blythe art doll by me, Sandra Coe for Motor City Dolly. She is my 81st custom Blythe. Her base doll is an authentic Takara Rouge Noir (EBL mold) on a jointed Pure Neemo sz Small body, and like all Neo Blythes, she has eyes that change when her cord is pulled. She is 11 1/2 inches tall.
Carlee has been extensively carved and repainted to create her unique look, with all her makeup sealed in Mr Super Clear UV cut to protect her for years to come. I have given her a reroot of super soft, auburn alpaca on a new scalp, shaped into a shag haircut with bangs. Because she is an EBL, her scalp is not a perfect fit, being slightly too large for her dome, but this isn’t detectable because it is covered by her hair.
Her eye mechanism works smoothly, and she has new eye lashes, sleep eyes with custom charms, 2 new pairs of my hand painted eye chips, and one pair of realistic glass eyes from Puppelina. I’ve left her original orange chips because I’ve never seen a Blythe rock that orange as well as she does!
Carlee comes dressed in her Detroit Roller Derby shirt, shorts, pads, and socks, all sewn by me. Finishing off her outfit is a helmet I’ve airbrushed to match her uniform, and the most adorable roller skates from SK Dollhouse.
She will travel securely packed in her own custom sleeping bag, which is lined in the softest flannel to protect her face. She’ll be further wrapped in lots of bubble wrap and sent in a sturdy box via Priority mail with signature confirmation.
